Rachmaninoff

IMG 0067

Carol and I went to the Pikes Peak Center last night for a Colorado Springs Philharmonic performance of Rachmaninoff. It was absolutely wonderful. The pianist was Gleb Ivanov who gave a stunning performance which earned him three standing ovations. I think we may have to give up Country Music and Taco Bell after this.

Easter Fun

We had the grandkids over for Easter dinner. It was great food, but the first thing on the agenda was the annual Easter egg hunt. The kids are stocked up on candy for at least a month or so. Had a great time.

Carol at the Range

IMG 2260

Carol and I went to the Whistling Pines Gun Club to shoot her new Walther PK-380. What a neat little gun! Carol did great. You can see a closeup of the target on the next page. She shot the head and I shot the body from distances of 5 & 6 yards. After a while she got board so she shot the letters on the upper right.

Golden

IMG 2200

Carol and I did a day trip to Golden, Colorado last week. Golden is the home of Coors Brewing Company and Spyderco knives and the Colorado School of Mines. It was a pretty nice day for Winter. We toured the downtown and then took the Coors tour. Touring the Coors plant is really interesting. And, you get to sample a couple of beers at the end of the tour. Man, there is nothing like “fresh” Coors beer. Here’s a few photos.

Zoo Light Show

IMG 2099

Carol and I took the grandkids to the Denver Zoo Light Show last night. It was cold, but a real blast. The place was jammed! We saw a few animals, but the lights were the main attraction. They really lit the place up. Go check out our photo gallery if you have time.

Air Force Football

IMG 0027

Carol and I went with Brittany and the kids to an Air Force Academy football game last night. We had a blast, but was it ever cold! Windchill dropped the temperature down to the 20′s. As usual the highlight was the Air Force Falcon and the parachute team that lands in the middle of the football field. Check out the parachutist with the American flag in tow. Very cool.

Emily’s Colorado

IMG 2010

Carol and I went to Emily’s school play about Colorado the other night. It was very well done, we had a great time. If you would like to see a short video of one of their songs just click on over to my web gallery. You will need a broadband connection to play the movie, it loads a little slowly.

You can check out their website for more details and go to our gallery for photos. We took the tour and had a great time there.
