I have been a woodworker since my early 30’s, a really long time! I really enjoy it. I have made furniture items for friends, family and, of course, my wonderful wife Carol. I am getting older, but I still manage to make something every year.
Recently, I had knee replacement surgery. If you really need it, I recommend it, but only if you really need it. There is quite a process of recovery. My former knee pain is gone, but it is a lot of work. Needless to say, I have not gotten back into woodworking. I just cannot stand for that long of time and that is what is required to work with saws and other woodworking equipment. I am getting close to starting up again, but not quite there yet.
Speaking of starting up, I will probably do something simple like a cutting board. I have other outdoor, garden projects planned for this summer, but I think I have to start small and ease back into the woodworking workflow.
Needless, to say, I really miss working with wood. I am anxious to get back into it, I am sure that will happen very soon.
Just a heads up, my son in law has gotten into woodworking. He builds log furniture which is really cool. He runs a business called Black Forest Logworks. Check out his stuff.
