This is an update on my cutting board project. I bought this cutting board kit to make something nice for Carol. But, I also bought it to determine if I can still do woodworking after my knee surgery. I am happy to say the results (so far) are positive on both counts.
I spent about 2 hours in the shop planing the cutting board to thickness after glue-up. It is looking pretty good so far.
The glue squeeze out is gone, it is nice and smooth. I had no problem standing and working for 2 hours. I might not be able to do 4-5 hours like I used to do, but I can do woodworking, albeit a little more slowly.
The next things to do on this project is to trim the ends to length. Then put a rounded edge around the top. Then do some sanding to final surface feel and add small feet for the countertop. Hopefully, it all comes together.
